@aphirst great that you resolved your issue. So maybe just for documentation: The blkid command should show a PARTUUID for the root partition, but did not in my case. In /boot/boot.txt I have set the root partition to root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 in the "setenv bootargs" line, ...
