problem with automount?

Postby massi47911 » Mon Aug 29, 2011 1:00 pm

Hi,
I've a pogoplug pink e02, 3 month ago I've bricked it to use with linux; I use it with a HDD mainly with samba and transmission.
After my recent holiday, I discover that this version of linux have a lot of alteration, samba and transmission don't start automatically!
I try to start samba, it runs but apparently the server doesn't start.
The configuration file is ok, if I go to /media/ I can find "Element" (the usual name of my mounted HDD).
What's the matter?
T.T why my o.s. take this update? It works well, before...

I've just read this:
http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1484
but I don't think this is the problem because
cit. "The automounting package is only for drives inserted after boot time. It doesn't touch the bootloader."

Thank you so much for your help! :P

My experience is that the udev automount rules will mount all devices under /media no matter if they are inserted after boot time or before. So if you rely on having your device mounted under /media and don't want to write an entry in /etc/fstab instead, just install the package udev-automount.
