Postby Fibrizo » Mon Jan 23, 2012 1:57 pm

hi new to the forum, archlinux and pogo plug. so far i checked a lot of threads but still dont understand a few things.
1) whats the main difference between Pogo Plug P21 - P01 - B01?

2) I want to use it as a media server and torrent download so i can access my movies from any pc in my house, which one is better for that?

3) Found This models on the net with a good price point are these prices good?
P21 - http://www.buy.com/prod/pogoplug-personal-cloud-media-sharing-solution-black/221688297.html
B01 - http://www.jr.com/pogoplug/pe/PGG_POGOB01/
P01 - http://www.compuplus.com/Drives-and-storage/CLOSEOUT-Pogoplug-Media-sharing-device-1211569.html

Thanks in advance

PS. English isn't my main language, I'm studying it at the moment.

All three have the exact same board inside of them.

P01 - Pro - black, has wireless (and thus PCIe)
P21 - V3 - Black - no PCIe
B01 - "Classic" - white/pink - no PCIe

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('xenoxaos', 'A')ll three have the exact same board inside of them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'P')01 - Pro - black, has wireless (and thus PCIe)

so P01 its better.

what about software compatibility. any issues with arch linux?
max drive capacity supported?
does it support usb hubs?
media access form mac and windows?
Can i cut, copy and paste files to the drives from windows?
does it have a gui for torrents downloads?

Thanks In Advance

It's all relative to if you need/want the wireless to be built in.

There are apps/services for that, and there are several GUis etc. This isn't Ubuntu though, so you will have to setup & configure them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('WarheadsSE', 'P')01 - Pro - black, has wireless (and thus PCIe)
P21 - V3 - Black - no PCIe
B01 - "Classic" - white/pink - no PCIe

/me fail... for some reason the P01 clicked in my head as no PCIe.

So, yes, the Pro is better.
derp.
