PogoPlug Mobile v4-a1

Postby ronwright » Sun Oct 14, 2012 5:08 am

I have followed the instructions to the letter three times now with the same results each time. Everything looks good all the way to the reboot and it will never get past the blinking green light. I have the pogoplug mobile v4-a1.

It appears browsing through the forum others have made this version work. I verfied the pp4-install scripts checks for this as a n acceptable model. I have used two different flash drives in my test.

Any ideas, hints, tips or revelations would be greatly appreciated.

I got my Pogoplug V4-A3 to work last night following the instruction on a second try. No special USB drive or anything.
First time though, I had an running these lines:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'wget http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz
tar -xzvf ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz # This will take a long time')

Downloaded the files then run "tar -xzvf ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz ", but nothing really happen the first time.
But second time after I started all over, the program created a lot of files and it took almost 2-3 mins to complete this. Make sure you see hundreds of file being created.

Second, make sure there is no error when you run the u-book installer. I did have an error saying "installer is for Series 4 only".
I had to revert the V4 to stock firmware (see http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5/pogoplug-series-4 -> Advanced tab) and start the installation all over.
