udev and udev-oxnas are in conflict

Postby matjaz » Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:40 pm

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@pogoserver ~]# pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
aur is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
:: Replace module-init-tools with core/kmod? [Y/n] Y
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: udev and udev-oxnas are in conflict. Remove udev-oxnas? [y/N] N
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: udev and udev-oxnas are in conflict
')

Any ideas what to do?

failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@pogoserver ~]# pacman -R udev-oxnas
checking dependencies...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: device-mapper: requires udev
:: initscripts: requires udev>=171
:: lvm2: requires udev
:: mkinitcpio: requires udev>=174-1
:: udev-automount: requires udev
')

So I think I should install udev, right?
When I try that, I get this:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@pogoserver ~]# pacman -Sy udev
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
aur is up to date
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
:: kmod and module-init-tools are in conflict. Remove module-init-tools? [y/N] N
error: unresolvable package conflicts detected
error: failed to prepare transaction (conflicting dependencies)
:: kmod and module-init-tools are in conflict
')

Alright, well just wait a day or two and we'll have the next udev-oxnas up anyways.

Major updates from upstream.

Any news on that? Is this a serious problem or just a inconsitency on the update repos?

I have this problem also, on a CuBox. Is there any outlook?

Thanks so much,

I can't speak to the CuBox, as I don't own one, but for the oxnas based platforms, we're working on the 3.1 kernel with as much free time as we have to spare, and it thankfully has no issues at all.

As for udev-oxnas, we'll be issuing a newer version of it, as soon as we sort out the mess caused by the kmod & other changes that happened this past week from upstream.

Yes, the cubox needs udev-oxnas.
Remove mkinitcpio and you can install udev-oxnas again
