Samsung Chromebook 2 Status

Postby elite4god » Tue Oct 21, 2014 5:17 pm

Is there any update to the status of support for the Samsung Chromebook 2? Specifically for the 11 inch model? What is needed to proceed? Reference hardware? Just time and patience? :D

Thanks

I found some install info here.

The 11" is nice machine. Got a UK one 2 days ago. Haven't been brave enough to try install linux yet, don't want to risk the speakers just yet.

Just in case anyone is having trouble using parted or partprobe. (It's was removed)
I'm not sure if it will be coming back.

Except they reversed this, and dev mode exposes cfdisk.

See the official instructions.

The folks at ARM have made a really clean setup script for the 11" chromebook (Also for the 13" and the 1st gen ARM).

Wifi isn't working as yet.

Oh, they updated it! And wifi works, mostly, on our jacked kernel.

In case someone else experienced mwifiex driver crashing soon after wpa_supplicant was started, replacing the firmware
    /lib/firmware/mrvl/sd8897_uapsta.bin
wich came with the rootfs tarball with this one
http://linux-exynos.org/dist/chromebook ... uapsta.bin
made it stable and I can now use WPA2-Enterprise.
