That is why WarheadsSE suggested to spawn all netcats (nc) before you turn goflex on. Drive needs to be in the cradle to see why it doesn't boot from it. By logs we mean whatever comes up in the terminal window(s).

Thanks for that. I understand. I will connect the drive and post the output.

I have just tried again using the same method as before and this time nothing.

I did notice however that my lan kept connecting and disconnecting, think I may have a broken wire in my crossover cable.

I will get a new on then try again, will piston results once I have the new cable.

here is the output with the drive in the cradle.

To run a command as administrator (user "root"), use "sudo <command>".
See "man sudo_root" for details.

Did you label the first partition "rootfs" ?

Like I said initially, I followed the steps in the install so if its in there then I can only hope I did and didn't miss a step but as it isn't working we art rule anything out at this stage.

Is there a way to check, and if I haven't, a way to fix it??

if you haven't, it's a simple tune2fs command. `tune2fs -L "rootfs" /dev/blargs

So I just do that at the marvell command prompt?

tune2fs -L "rootfs" /dev/blarg

and that's it?

I did notice on the output log it put the drive at 700 or so gig and not the 3tb is that something I should worry about?

I thought we already figured it out. You need hybridmbr for 3TB disks. Read the thread here: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1953#p13713

This makes it a bit more difficult as since you haven't created the HMBR prior to installation, you will have to use your computer to partition and format the drive, and then extract the alarm tarball (found here: http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM ... est.tar.gz) to the first partition. I will need to use ubuntu live cd for all that. There's gdisk for windows http://sourceforge.net/projects/gptfdis ... -binaries/ , so you can partition the drive in windows with hmbr (I am not sure if ubuntu livecd comes with gdisk, also I am not sure if you will be able to temporarily install it with livecd so I am giving you the windows version). After partitioning you for sure need to format and extract in ubuntu live cd.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'cd /media/rootfs
wget http://archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz
sudo tar xvzf ArchLinuxARM-armv5te-latest.tar.gz
sudo umount /media/rootfs
')

to use gdisk in ubuntu you should be able to
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gdisk
sudo gdisk /dev/sd[x]')
where [x]=your drive i.e. /dev/sda
