Pogoplug V2 not booting after upgrade

Postby ejblom » Wed Aug 07, 2013 11:35 am

Dear pogopluggers,

Decided to upgrade the Pogoplug V2 and actually watched all the messages. So when I witnessed:

( 30/119) upgrading systemd [#######################################################################################] 100%
==> Warning: setcap failed, falling back to setuid root on /usr/bin/systemd-detect-virt
==> The /bin/systemd symlink has been removed. Any references in your
bootloader (or elsewhere) must be updated to /usr/lib/systemd/systemd.
( 31/119) upgrading device-mapper

I was eager to create a symlink to fix it. However, something went, I think after copying the link "/usr/lib/systemd/systemd" an enter appeared and after pasting it in putty, the terminal session ended. After that, I couldn't login ! (SSH was up, didn't accept the login). Samba was also still working fine.

So I mounted the flash boot drive @ Ubuntu and created a symlinc in /usr/bin (/bin did not exist). But no luck, the device won't boot, can't ping it....

Any thoughts? Any help would appreciated...

Best

EJ

Thanks for the reply.

But how do you explain then that it won't boot? Moreover, is there a file created in /var/log which contains the error messages? I couldn't find any newly created files.
