Couldn't ssh in after update

I gather this explains why pacman -Syu is complaining that systemd 227.1 is newer than core.

I have a goflex net brand new here, anything I can do to help debug this issue?

I had the same issue with the "File exists" errors from systemd on my GoFlex Home. I bisected systemd git between v226 and v227 and found that this is the first bad commit:

I did the same, but git log visualize gave me two suspects at the end, the first being the same as yours:

Make the API of the new helpers more similar to the old wrapper.

In particular we now return the hash as a byte string to avoid
any endianness problems.

My two GoFlex net are offline after peforming update today. One was updated to linux 4.3 and systemd 228-3, second still with systemd 226, but with all other packages updates... Since both of them are remote, waiting for getting access to the storage to check journal for reason of inaccessibility.

Updated to systemd 228-3 yesterday with no problem to report after a power cycle; will hold linux 4.3 update until further notice...

Investigated the problem - issues with my Goflex devices caused by linux 4.3 update, in particular, due to 4.3 kernel now genrates initramfs image and places it to the /boot. Both of my devices faield to boot when initramfs present and start working fine with 4.3 kernel if image removed.
I submitted issue to track the problem resolution. Not sure, however, if this will affect other devices.

P.S. Looks like mine bug report was closed as invalid. Whatever. I am sharing this just to help other people who may face them issues after recents updates.

i just retested with clean install and still can not reproduce this. All my devices boot just fine.

Tested with: uboot-<device>=2015.10-1
linux-kirkwood == 4.3.0-1
linux-kirkwood-dt == 4.3.0-1

Devices tested: Pogoplug v4, GoFlex Home, Pogoplug E02
