Please help - may have bricked Pogoplug

Postby pleasehelpme » Sat Aug 16, 2014 10:08 am

I'll keep this short, in the interest of not wasting anyones time.

I bought a pink pogoplug eo2 from amazon and I attempted to install arch using this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wqBQzqnpg4

Then I proceeded to restart my pogoplug:

My pogoplug didnt boot, I can see the ethernet light on but the front light is turned off.
My sandisk flash drive keeps flashing (it's way of saying "not in use")

I have tried ssh access, but upon closer inspection the device isn't even registered on my net work anymore.

Can anyone please help an utterly helpless noob?

The guide is way outdated. You should've followed the official one http://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv5 ... s-ui-tabs2 if you remove all the storage devices from it it might boot back into stock OS.

If not... You should still be O.K. if uboot installed without errors/problems. Try a different USB stick or a hard drive.

If worst comes to worst get a usb <-> ttl adapter. There are plenty of guides how to get it connected

I just tried using it without the flash drive, didn't work.

Can you please detail how I would go about re-installing archlinux on a new drive? I can't access ssh

I'm using putty on a windows 7 computer if that helps.

reinstallions states " Linux computer, or from a live CD/USB or virtual machine"

Can this be done through Android Terminal Emulator?

Maybe if your rom has necessary userland tools, but you are on your own here.
