pogoplug-E2 loading system

Postby g8jvm » Sun Nov 29, 2015 1:58 pm

hi all
I few years since my last posting
Digging out the pogoplug to run motions as the ip cams I have are too sensitive to movement on their own sensors

I was running Arch with an external HD as I was using it as a NAS as well,
I'm going to just plugin a 16GB flash drive and run it from there.
uboot should still be OK,so it should point at the removable drive to boot.

Is there a quick way of loading the OS on a flash drive plugged into the PC, its running linux ???
I know in the past I've done it , but I cant remember whether it was a debian tarball or an Arch tarball
that was loaded on the drive and then extracted.
My memory is a bit corrupt due to age , I'll googled and looked on my own archives but haven't found anything

Could someone please point me in the right direction a RTFM comment wont be appreciated.

Thanks
Richard
Best wishes
Richard

ext4 can be used if you have an updated version of U-Boot.
