Problem with mkvtoolnix

Postby john3voltas » Mon Dec 12, 2011 4:51 am

I've just reinstalled my Dockstar and I was trying NZBGet and mkvtoolnix when I found issues with it.

Code: Select all
mkvinfo: error while loading shared libraries: libboost_regex.so.1.47.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Broken package?
Can someone help me?
Cheers

pacman -S boost might help, if not, let us know and we'll look into it.
Remember, Arch Linux ARM is completely donation-supported, and is totally awesome.

I was wondering...
pacman -Sy mkvtoolnix installs:
- mkvtoolnix-5.0.1-1
- lzo2-2.06-1
- libmatroska-1.3.0-2
- libebml-1.2.2-2
- boost-libs-1.48.0-2
- icu-4.8.1.1-1

If boost-1.48.0-2 is needed, why didn't pacman purposed me this package too?
Just curious ;)
Cheers

PS: just installed boost-1.48.0-2 and I'm still getting the same error message :(

I have mkvtoolnix installed on one of my plugs. It runs fine with no problems at all. Possibly try a quick reinstall to a flash drive, boot to that and install mkvtoolnix to see if you possibly have a corrupted instal?

Hi xenoxaos,
You and another user whose nick I can't remember right now, both tried to help me yesterday on #archlinux-arm.
I just did a full reinstall from the web with a pacman Syu on top of that.
Full clean install with all the updates and mkvtoolnix still errors on me.
Don't see how this can be my installation issue...
Cheers

Code: Select all
# pacman -Ssq mkv
mkvtoolnix
mkvtoolnix-cli
mkvtoolnix-gtk
# pacman -Si mkvtoolnix-cli | grep Replaces
Replaces       : mkvtoolnix

Looks like mkvtoolnix is replaced by mkvtoolnix-cli, but the former is still available for install. I guess mkvtoolnix was built against boost-libs-1.47.0, hence the error. I suggest you install mkvtoolnix-cli. Btw: Don't use pacman -Sy package_name, because Partial_upgrades_are_unsupported
