When is Gcc5 coming to archlinux arm?

Postby relevantflower » Tue May 26, 2015 2:20 pm

gcc5 is already available for x86_64 and i686 https://www.archlinux.org/packages/core/x86_64/gcc/. Is there any timeline for providing these packages for arm, too?

Since we have _tons_ of kernels, and related modules, we have to test-build and run all of them. This takes time, especially since if they do break, we have to investigate and patch if possible.

Is it possible to provide it a package? AFAIU i686 and x86_64 don't use gcc 5.1 yet to compile the kernels.

When it is prepared. We're not going to release it until we know our userland can actually build & run on it cleanly.
