How do I force minidlna to rescan for new video files?

This shows up in the minidlna log. How do I “fix it”.
[2014/02/21 17:16:32] inotify.c:198: warn: WARNING: Inotify max_user_watches [8192] is low or close to the number of used watches [91] and I do not have permission to increase this limit. Please do so manually by writing a higher value into /proc/sys/fs/inotify/max_user_watches.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'echo "fs.inotify.max_user_watches = 65536" > /etc/sysctl.d/99-inotify.conf')

and reboot
