Strip Arch on Raspberry Pi to bare essentials

Postby shreyanshk » Mon Feb 24, 2014 8:06 am

Hello,
I'm new to linux and using arch linux on my Raspberry Pi model-B (512MB). Everything is updated. It's running on a 2GB sd card (space is very limited).
So I want to get rid of everything non-essential for example manuals, licenses, useless packages etc so that I can save as much as disk space as possible. I just want the binaries for the programs I've installed (transmission, aria2c, noip2, minidlna, samba, webmin)
Please point everything we can get rid off, without losing access to any of these programs.
Thank You

Arch Linux is pretty stripped down as it is, but I guess if you executed the following command:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
pacman -Qg base
')

You would get a listing of the minimum packages (with the exception of some raspberry pi packages).

May want to review the Pacman wiki entry (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/pacman) to get some more information on how to use that command. What you want to achieve would require using that command, but like I mentioned at the start, Arch Linux is pretty stripped down as it is.
