Where can I find system logs

Hi there,

I'm a little frustrated since a rather simple thing i.e. finding the system logs on archlinux on my raspberry pi fails so far. I got a tomcat server which seems to be killed by something since it crashes without any erros in its logs. That's why any system logs about process handling would be perfect but I would be thankful for any hints regarding system logs. I really searched quite some time without finding anything satisfying.

I came across journalctl but I was not able to extract any information which comes close to system logs.

Any help is highly appreciated.
