.svg files not displayed

Postby hachel » Thu Apr 17, 2014 9:50 am

Hello everybody,

I'm having trouble displaying .svg files in websites running on archlinuxarm on my pogo plug.

It started with mopidy, which is an application that allows to play music via a webinterface usingcherrypy for the webinterface. The webinterface uses an svg-file as a background for playlist control. It wouldn't display that svg-file but all other images like gif etc.
I then copied an example html-file with both an svg-file inline and as a background of the internet to the root of my lighttpd but it wouldn't display either. It's not the browsers fault (tested other, including on different devices) and the example file works fine if I open it in firefox on my laptop.

Also, both with the webinterface and the test-page, the svg would load and display correctly if I called it directly by its url. Just not when displayed within html-code.

I did a pacman -Qs svg on my laptop which showed librsvg, which I then installed on my arm, but that didn't help.

Is there anything that I'm missing? I always thought svg where rendered on the client.

I ran "/usr/bin/gdk-pixbuf-query-loaders --update-cache" and I worked for the lighttpd-file. But cherrypi still doesn't display svg. Maybe I have to add a mimetype for that somewhere (I did for lighttpd)?

In lighttp you need to add svg mime type to make it work, you need to do the same for cherrypy. Google it.
