Intermittent wifi connection

Hi, I have a problem with my wifi connection on my Raspberry Pi. I have it set up to connect via wifi on boot, which works fine sometimes but other times fails. Here is the journalctl output from a boot when it fails:

My adapter is an Edimax EW-7811UN. I have installed the dkms-8192cu package as I found advised here: http://raspberrypi.stackexchange.com/questions/12946

I am using netctl to set up the connection. Here is my profile configuration file:

As you can see I've tried increasing the timeout on various settings but it doesn't seem to help. I also tried dhcp and static IP, and have tried both plaintext and hashed key but with no improvment. Does anyone have any idea what the issue could be? I'm absolutely stumped as to what's wrong, so any help would be much appreciated.

IIRC 8192-dkms in repos is exactly the same as the one provided by raspi kernel (with the only exception that 8192-dkms has power management disabled by default). You might want to try linux-raspberrypi-latest which has in-tree driver enabled.

I checked the contents of /sys/module/8192cu/parameters to see the value of rtw_power_mgnt, and it was defaulting to 1 even though I am using the driver provided by the repo. I followed your instructions pepedog and it seems to be working much better now - I haven't had it fail to connect so far anyway. Thank you!
