ifb0 and ifb1 devices?

Postby macx » Sat Oct 04, 2014 12:03 pm

I recently installed arch onto my raspberry pi and noticed two network interfaces I was unfamiliar with. After some researching I think I understand they are related to traffic shaping.

Can someone help me understand what these devices are used for and why they were present on a default installation of arch (on raspberry pie)

Yes those are used for traffic shaping. The driver is built in into the kernel instead of being built as a module so it is always loaded and you see them in interfaces. Will 'fix' it later.
