Hi all, I've searched and searched and can't find an answer to my particular problem:
I installed ArchLinux on a 4Gb thumb drive plugged into the single usb port exactly as per the instructions and did the first reboot. The light on the front goes green, I get a light on the ethernet port of my router, but I get no working IP and no sign of my device's mac under DHCP or ARP (I've attached a screen shot to confirm this).
I have no clue what is wrong, but can only imagine that it's failing to request an IP through DHCP.
How can I access the device to determine what is wrong? If I boot the GoFlex Net without the thumb drive, or with another the green light on the front just flashes forever.
I've plugged the thumb drive into my laptop and the partition is called rootfs and has all the usual Linux folders - I've done a screen shot of this with the folders and size on disk displayed.
So what next? I've seen mention of connecting with 'netconsole' on other posts, but the link no longer works. Is there another way to get SSL connectivity? Or can someone direct me how to recover and start again?
I'm familiar with the NSLU2 and have used one of those happily for a few years running Debian, but mine finally packed up the other day and the GoFlex Net was supposed to be the replacement.
Thanks so much in advance, BigDooley
