It should be in the repositories soon: plexmediaserver EDIT: it is in the repo now.

It will only be available for armv5 as it only comes in binary form and is not available for other architectires. Please don't ask!
For rasbperry PI you will need to use armv5 rootfs (not available for download, but can be created. Raspberry pi kernel and firmware for armv5 is in the repos).

I tried it a while back on a V3 Pro - it didn't work because it wants systemd, but it worked fine on my V2 with systemd.
It won't do transcoding, so you have to have the video in the format for the device to view it. I was feeding a roku and it was fine.

Actually it doesn't need systemd. Systemd service was created by the guys who maintain the aur package. You may be able to create an init script for it or take one from deb and adapt it.

Thanks for taking the time to get this working. I was hoping I could get Plex working on my Pogoplug.

I'm a bit new to Linux, could you demonstrate the process of building Plex, it looks like there was a newer version that wasn't posted, and I was hoping to have an up to date copy, and also learn something in the process.

Thanks!

It's been a while but it had more to do with the locale setup if I remember right. It was a cake walk on my V2 with the 3.1 kernel.

If you simply want to install the latest Plex Media Server (0.9.8.4), check my signature.

Guys there may be a problem with this build. My router (Cisco e2000 running stock) will not allow WiFi connections to be established but Ethernet is working while running samba, pogoplug, and Plex. A second person from the slickdeals forum on the pogoplug is having similar problems with his while running Plex and Samba. We both had to unplug our pogoplugs to get the network back up.

If there is anything you want me to try on it I'll be glad to give feedback.

Thanks for making the build.
