cloud-init Missing

... and quickly found there is a chain of missing dependencies: cloud-init depends upon netplan, which depends upon pandoc, which depends upon haskell, uusi, and ghc - all of which are missing from the Arch Linux ARM repositories. I can keep chasing this dependency chain and see if I can get ...

Re: cloud-init Missing

After looking around a little, it seems that the lack of ghc/Haskell support seems to be the real issue here, though it's been requested several times [0]. My understanding is that it is not currently supported because GHC didn't support ARM well and it ...

pandoc missing

... arm as I'm using it as my daily driver on an rpi4. After struggling to make bluetooth work I've found that pandoc (and it seems that almos all haskell related software) is missing despite being available sometime in the past. Is there any news about this? any post with information about haskell ...

No Haskell, no Pandoc. Why?

Hi!

Anyone knows why there's no Haskell (and obviously no pandoc) available?

Other arm-based OS seem to package them, so it doesn't seem to me a technical question, must be some other reason.

Thanks!

What AUR Helper to use

Long time arch user here. On my laptop I use AURA as my AUR helper, and love it to bits. I have a RB pi 2 and found that the core-haskell libraries needed for compiling it only come in a x86 flavors.

What does everyone else use as a recommended AUR Helper. Does Yaourt or Packer work?

Newer Glasgow Haskell Compiler

Hello! As I can see in the packages list, it looks like GHC 6.12.3-1 is the latest version available. However, it's already two years old and it seems the ARM backend has lately improved a lot. Is there any reason to hold it back to that particular version? Are there any plans to update it, say, to ...

Re: Hard float?

Hello, would this be an occasion to address the haskell & ghc circle dependency which prevents updating it to the current version?

Cheers.

Re: xmonad

Building xmonad fails, due to some missing haskell module dependencies. It's no problem. I installed qtile instead. It runs great and really is just a clone of xmonad, written and configed in python. I really love arch on arm64 so far. It's very fast on my M1 Mac in Parallels.

Is haskell not available?

Hello, I was wondering why Haskell is not available as a package (for example 'ghc', the Glasgow Haskell Compiler). Is there a technical limitation or is it due to maintenance priorities? It seems to have been available in the past, as ...
