Samba Share reported by Windows as "No Enough Space"

Postby ldi9999 » Thu Dec 13, 2012 6:59 pm

I have an empty 160GB HD attached with samba share. I was able to copy small file (say 100k) from Windows to it without any problem. However, when I tried to copy a little bigger file (700M), I got a message saying there is no enough space. Any idea what caused this problem?

I would start with a pastie of
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'df -h
mount
cat /etc/samba/smb.conf')

Samba tends to report the size of the nearest mount upwards. Thus: /media on an 8GB rootfs shows as just 8GB vs /media/external which shows as 160GB.

My HD is an empty 160GB in ext2, as sdb1.
I mounted it with:
#mount /dev/sdb1 /media/Media
and configued share with
path = /media/Media/
