Samba setup tutorial not working anymore

Postby skomes » Tue May 17, 2011 1:51 am

When trying to set up samba by following this tutorial

http://Arch Linux ARM.com/index.php5/Application:Samba

it no longer works. When it gets to the part about setting the smbpasswd, it gives this error:

smbpasswd: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.12' not found (required by /usr/lib/libldap-2.4.so.2)

Any ideas on how to fix this? Is GLIBC_2.12 an easy package to find/install?

Update your installation.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Syu')

You may need to run that command more than once if pacman needs to be upgraded first.

Had the same issue but only before the OXNAS support. Are you using a Pro/Video/P21?

f you are my fix was:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pacman -Rns samba smbclient avahi ##removed offending files
pacman -Syyuu ##updates all libraries
pacman -Sy samba avahi ##reinstalls apps needed for samba including smbclient
##From here, follow the wiki.')

Hi Slycat.

Your advise works for me. Thank you very much!!

After fresh Sata reinstall I had "smbpasswd: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.12' not found (required by /usr/lib/libldap-2.4.so.2)" errormessage, and resolved with that 3 pacman commands.
