A recent update must have caused a similar issue as before, i.e OMXplayer sound is OK, but anything else is silent. pavucontrol shows activity OK.
I set defaults.ctl.card 1 and defaults.pcm.card 1 in /usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf to no avail.
Tried downgrading linux-raspberrypi, pulseaudio, libpulse. Cannot remove alsa-card-profiles because of pipewire.
If nobody else has this issue with Chromium, VLC etc. I guess I will have to downgrade all other recent updates.

Fixed by newer release of alsa-card-profiles.
