Thunderbird's current PKGBUILD contains $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'pkgrel=2') but the package repository still provides the old Thunderbird package.

Indeed, the PKGBUILD bump is already there, but it still needs to be rebuilt. It just hasn't happened yet.
