[SOLVED] [kea] boost-libs 1.78.0-1 breaks kea package

Postby mxr » Tue Jan 11, 2022 1:28 pm

The recent update of boost-libs to 1.78.0-1 breaks kea which needs a rebuild for the new boost-libs version. (many other packages got it but kea was appearently overlooked).

Also kea's version is behind Arch mainline which is at 2.0.1, where ArchLinuxARM stayed at 1.9.8

I also need an updated Kea package.

I want to help fix it if possible, but kea is not in archlinixarm/PKGBUILDs git hub repro so can't submit a pull request.

Can someone point me to how to help get kea package fixed.

There is a temporary work around that allows me to use kea now

Code: Select all
cd /usr/lib
ln -s libboost_system.so.1.78.0 libboost_system.so.1.76.0

Once the kea package is rebuilt against the latest boost-libs package then this link won't be necessary, but at least this allows kea to run without error and provide dhcp services.

The latest version now has the correct soname for boost-libs:

Code: Select all
$ find-libdeps /var/cache/pacman/pkg/kea-2.0.1-1-aarch64.pkg.tar.xz

includes:

libboost_system.so=1.78.0-64

So this is resolved.
