Why will glibc packages not updated?

Postby telsch » Fri Sep 30, 2022 3:14 pm

Any reasons there are not newer builds?

Latest version is glibc-2.35-5.1 from May 29 but there is a newer PKGBUILD glibc version 2.36-4 from Sep 11, 2022 available.

https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUIL ... GBUILD#L15

All toolachain parts are only pushed manually to the repository because they need more care and testing before being released to the public. Feel free to build the toolchain yourself if you'd like to test it out.

glibc, binutils and gcc is pretty much out of date and has been so for quite some time. Any update on this?

Any news on this? I'm waiting for this fix/feature included in versions from 2. 36 onwards: https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=27924

Maybe someone can clarify: at https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/commits/master/core/glibc the version is up to date, but pacman still pulls 2.35-5.1 from May 2022!?
