CIPSO by default in NFS mount

Postby arepus » Tue Dec 06, 2022 7:13 am

I was not able to mount NFS shares on ArchlinuxArm on OdroidXU4 with any (4,5,6) kernel. The mount system call in the mount.nfs failed with the "Protocol error". The reason was that the kernel added the CIPSO field into the first SYN packet and the NFS server responded with "ICMP 12 Parameter Problem". After a few days of digging, I got NFS to work by adding the $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'security=apparmor') boot parameter. Not sure what exactly is misconfigured by default, but I never had such issue with NFS mounts before. The NFS share mounted without issues from ArchLinux on x86_64, Debian Buster or Bullseye on XU4.
