kodi-rpi 21.1-4 needs to be rebuilt because of python update

Postby cyberpatrol » Sat Jan 11, 2025 12:15 am

kodi-rpi 21.1-4 doesn't start anymore because of python update to python 3.13.1-1.

$ kodi --standalone
/usr/lib/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libpython3.12.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: no such file or directory

It would be nice if someone would rebuild kodi-rpi.

Was waiting for the new python to hit the repos. I do not see it. What repo are you using?

Oops! Sorry.

I'm using ARMtix with linux-rpi and linux-rpi-headers and some other packages from Arch Linux ARM [extra] and [alarm]. The new version of python is in the [system] repo of ARMtix. Just saw in [core] is still the old version of python.

Nice to have a backup. So I restored the backup and put py* in IgnorePkg so far.

This commit upgrades python to 3.13 in core repo:make_clickable_callback(MAGIC_URL_FULL, ' ', 'https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/commit/8f1dcb8abd6cee4601cb6bf389aa4ad6efd134e6', '', ' class="postlink"')

Is it normal to wait for a month for kodi rebuild with python3.13? I have a ugly workaround right now:
$ /usr/bin/kodi-standalone --audio-backend=alsa
/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libpython3.12.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libpython3.12.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libpython3.12.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
/usr/bin/kodi --standalone --audio-backend=alsa has exited in an unclean state 3 times in the last 1 seconds.
Something is probably wrong

$ ls -lah /usr/lib/libpython3.12.so.1.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 20 Jan 11 14:38 /usr/lib/libpython3.12.so.1.0 -> libpython3.13.so.1.0
personaly i recieve an error today with libcdio 2.2 and python 3.13 to
kodi-standalone[644]: /usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libiso9660.so.11: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
kodi-standalone[644]: /usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libpython3.12.so.1.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I had to downgrade :
libcdio to 2.1.0-4
python to 3.12.7-1

for run kodi-rpi again

I supose that kodi need to be rebuild again

I'm getting:
/usr/lib/kodi/kodi.bin: error while loading shared libraries: libnfs.so.14: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
with the new kodi-rpi-21.2-4 and libnfs-6.0.2-3 since todays full system upgrade.
