NUT - tmpfiles

Postby technosf » Fri Mar 14, 2025 6:49 pm

Network UPS Tools

Installs a couple of tmp files in usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/
usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/nut-common-tmpfiles.conf
usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/nut.conf

There is some duplication in these and I get complaints about that during system updates. It looks like a packaging issues. Anyone any other thoughts? Checking before reaching out to the package maintainer.

I've had the same problem for months. My inelegant solution is to ignore the error, but I'd be glad to know a fix too!

These temp files are installed as part of the package it appears. I think the upstream package maintainer needs a ping to see if the duplicates can be normalized.

You can just delete one set of temps - I do not know if functionality is impaired, or if they comeback if the package is updated, but the messages stop.
