bcm2835_v4l2 seems to be missing also from 4.9.13-1.

Hello Forum,

I have observed this warning first with upgrade to 4.9.13-1 and again with 4.0.13-2 now. I have not rebooted the Raspi since then - my hope was, that it will disappear with next kernel update. So I don't know, if I can boot or not and the Raspi is still running 4.9.12:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '$ uname -a
Linux geordi 4.9.12-1-ARCH #1 SMP Fri Feb 24 18:44:34 MST 2017 armv6l GNU/Linux
')
I wonder, if I can ignore the warning and reboot.

Ciao,

Photor

@photor, I booted into 4.9.13-2 and I still get module not found still (boots fine, without any camera functionality though as the module is removed). Not sure if this is related to the same issue?

Assuming it is related, all you really need to do is remove bcm2835_v4l2 module from loading at boot, this prevents things from breaking again if they decide to put the module back into the kernel.

Thank you jskier,

this encourages me to try a rebook ;) As there is no camera mounted this will not be an issue.

Where to configure not loading the bcm2835_v4l2 module? I do not see, where it is specified to load it. (Sorry for the silly question, but up to now the raspi just worked :D - at least after next update)

Ciao,

Photor

PS: reboot went smooth :D Thank you.
