gatttool no longer included in bluez

Hello forum,

I got a huge problem with the latest bluez package release. It seems like bluez has deprecated the gatttool. Unfortunately gatttool is used by at least some third party modules. In my case its a python module which is basically a wrapper around gatttool.

There is a non ARM AUR package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/bluez-utils-compat/ which compiles bluez with --enable-deprecated which seems to compile the assumed deprecated gatttool.

As it will take some time until third party modules will adopt the new bluez tools (I wasn't able to get information on which tool replaced gatttool) I think it is best for now to include the deprecated tools in the regular bluez package.

I wasn't able to port the bluez-utils-compat aur package to ARM as it requires a higher glibc version than available in the repository.

So can anyone recommend me a way to get gatttool on my raspberry?
