There is an issue with mounting sata (GFH) after update.

sata_mv f1080000.sata: can't request region for resource [mem 0xf1080000-0xf1084fff]
sata_mv: probe of f1080000.sata failed with error -16

@moonman,

There was a regresion in sata_mv in kernel 4.11. Go back to latest 4.10.x version for sata_mv.c solved it.

Think this may have just bitten me - kirkwood device (NSA325) and after latest kernel upgrade, it refused to reboot. Just redoing the OS for last known good tar ball, as I never wired up the UART on this box ...

OK - I've gone back to the last tar ball - but its the not dt kernel. Now of course if I upgrade to the dt kernel - I'll get the latest, and it will crash again.

So can someone shout when the dt tree is fixed, so I can then change back to it ...

Im going to work on it over the weekend. I am of course not booting off the sata. There is a roll back machine post pinned under Community Guides so you can grab a package there.

@bodhi, thanks for the heads up on whats wrong

I'm booting from usb on a Zyxel NSA320, and even after removing the internal sata disks, the kernel still hangs at this point:

Ignore my previous post!
When booting from usb, 4.10.12-2 boots fine when my sata hdds are in place, but without disks it hangs the same way as described above, so that issue is not related to the upgrade.

Yeah, 4.11.3 boots fine with external usb.
My system had been on the usb ever since flashing of ALarm's uboot.
