Package Dependency Mismatch Octave?

Postby intrepidnomad » Fri Aug 11, 2017 11:55 pm

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '/')usr/lib/octave/4.2.1/exec/armv7l-unknown-linux-gnueabihf/octave-gui: error while loading shared libraries: libhdf5.so.100: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I am getting this error after running octave from the repositories.

When I $this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'ls /lib') I see libhdf5.so.101 along with libhdf.so

Apparently the required version is missing or a dependency variable in Octave is being hard coded when it shouldn't?

I've tried reinstalling the respective hdf and octave packages without success.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards

Octave was last built: 2017-May-29 21:54 (octave-4.2.1-5-armv7.log.html.gz)
hdf5/libhdf5 was last built: 2017-Aug-06 15:15 (hdf5-1.10.1-1-armv7.log.html.gz)

Looks like the Octave fellows failed to nudge the dependency.
