Broken WiFi on Raspberry after linux-raspberrypi-4.9.63-1-ar

Bug:

WiFi support seems broken after upgrading linux-raspberrypi 4.9.60-1-armv7h => 4.9.63-1-armv7h.

Reproduced with two different network interfaces (the built-in RaspberryPi 3 WiFi chipset and an external dongle) and on two distinct Raspberry Pis.

The WiFi starts on system boot and the wlan0 interface is correctly recognized, but after few seconds the IP address is lost and journalctl -xe gets populated by lines like these:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Nov 22 00:14:44 turing nmbd[872]: [2017/11/22 00:14:44.767418, 0] ../source3/lib/interface.c:652(load_interfaces)
Nov 22 00:14:44 turing nmbd[872]: WARNING: no network interfaces found
')

Steps to reproduce:

Upgrade to the kernel 4.9.63-1-armv7h and raspberrypi-firmware-20171119-1.
By downgrading back to 4.9.60-1-armv7h and raspberrypi-firmware-20171103-1 the WiFi works again.

Can you provide related kernel messages? A message from the Netbios server isn't very helpful.
