[solved] [am33x-latest] pacman-key fails to work

Postby McFish » Sat Sep 08, 2018 5:21 am

I'm trying to install arch linux to Beaglebone Black, with image: ArchLinuxARM-am33x-latest.tar.gz dated: 01-Sep-2018 05:38 but the process fails on pacman-key command:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '[root@alarm ~]# pacman-key --init
gpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libreadline.so.6: undefined symbol: UP
chmod: cannot access ‘/etc/pacman.d/gnupg/trustdb.gpg’: No such file or directory
gpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libreadline.so.6: undefined symbol: UP
gpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libreadline.so.6: undefined symbol: UP
==> Updating trust database...
gpg: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/libreadline.so.6: undefined symbol: UP
==> ERROR: Trust database could not be updated.

[root@alarm ~]# pacman-key --populate archlinuxarm
==> ERROR: You do not have sufficient permissions to read the pacman keyring.
==> Use 'pacman-key --init' to correct the keyring permissions.
')

Any idea on how to fix this?

I think is better to reinstall pacman. But I presume you need to boot from outside, like a USB image.

After lots of digging, it seems that I had SD card that was partially broken.. The os managed to boot up, but the broken card started to cause all sorts of weird problems, and finally when I attempted to rewrite the image to SD card, I started getting sector failures, and finally the sd card stopped responding.. Switching to new SD card made everything work :roll:
