error: target not found: raspberrypi-firmware

Hello,

Searched the forums and could not find any relevant matches, sorry If I missed it.
Basically I was trying to install this package as a dependency of another on a raspberry pi 3 (aarch64)
Looking at https://archlinuxarm.org/packages/any/r ... i-firmware this package is declared:$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '
raspberrypi-firmware 20181129-1
Architecture: any')
I would then expect it to be available there: http://mirror.archlinuxarm.org/aarch64/alarm/ which is not the case, which is I guess what cause the not found error when trying to install it.

I did manage to makepkg/install it locally so no big deal for me, but I guess that breaks many depending packages.

Hi, I had exactly the same issue with my rpi3 and aarch64.
I was able to makepkg and install with no issues, however:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '$ /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd measure_temp
-bash: /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error')

Maybe the firmware is not available for aarch64, this also justifies the package not being in the repo, but arch=any in the PKGBUILD should be corrected.

Did your dependent package work?

Bumping this, since I have run into the same issue.

Looking at the url for the package:
http://mirror.archlinuxarm.org/armv7h/a ... pkg.tar.xz

It's under armv7h, is that right?

I have the same problem - raspberrypi-firmware package is missing.
It seems it's been missing for three months now.
Is this unusual for what seems to be a core piece of code for the Raspberry Pi?

I have tried to do a makepkg, for which I
a) installed base-devel
b) got hold of the PKGBUILD for raspberrypi-firmware
c) did makepkg, which seemed to work fine (after I also downloaded 00-raspberrypi-firmware.conf)
d) pacman -U raspberrypi-firmware-20190122-1-any.pkg.tar.xz, also seemed to work
e) ran /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd and got -bash: /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd: cannot execute binary file: Exec format error

so I'm slightly worried that I have an architecture mismatch between the installed system and what base-devel is attempting to build.

Very grateful for any hints. For what it is worth this is a brand new install today starting with the instructions at
https://archlinuxarm.org/platforms/armv8/broadcom/raspberry-pi-3, except I downloaded http://os.archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-rpi-3-latest.tar.gz instead of http://os.archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-rpi-2-latest.tar.gz (note the 3 in the one I downloaded vs the 2).
