Home-assistant, latest upgrade caused dependency failure

Postby TheSaint » Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:18 am

Hello forum,
I installed home-assistant and for some condition I used to update by pip manager. A co8uple of day back I saw the newer version, but when installed it caused a lot of error, so I got back to previous version.

The matter, for me, it is to understand what are the correct version that home-assistant wants to use, and what are the dependencies listed in the Arch packages.

What would it be the best method to upgrade the package ?

+1 on that question, I'd like to buy one of these houses in Greece and in the near future and build a home automation system around it, and I'd like to avoid issues with home-assistant for a house where I'll only be during the holidays.

The latest package went smooth without glitches. During these struggles I found the compatibility list in the python library /usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/homeassistant/package_constraints.txt
So I invite the maintainer to set a procedure and check that will be honored.
It might take just to unpack the tarball and run /usr/lib/python3.7/site-packages/homeassistant/requirements.py first that will verify the feasibility.
