Clearly. Naturally I expected pacman to install required packages.
I checked pacman -Ss libgssapi to see if there was a libgssapi package, which there isn't, and I read up on what libgssapi is, and tried to find packages which it was part of, which I didn't find an example except for libgssglue, which I found mentioned as a solution someone had for the same error report when they ran conserver client. But when I installed it it did not fix alpine.
pacman -Si says it depends on libldap, heimdal, and gettext, all of which are installed. So, according to the documentation, I do have all the required packages.
So, rereading the post about the fellow running conserver as I composed this reply, I fixed the problem. In ALarm, the file is called libgssapi_krb5.so.2, not libgssapi.so.2. The current package does not correctly reference the library name used on ALarm.
To fix this issue, make a symbolic link:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'ln -s /usr/lib/libgssapi_krb5.so.2 /usr/lib/libgssapi.so.2')
