I have read that page several times but I can't even get the daemon to start.
I have tried starting the daemon with several options but nothing is working. I have tried
/dev/lirc0
/dev/lirc
/dev/input/by-id/usb-Philips_eHome_Infrared_Transceiver_PH00PsUD-event-if00
/dev/input/event0
but everytime it says
'lircd: there's no hardware I can use and no peers are specified'
If I start the daemon with driver options for 'mceusb' it just says
Driver `mceusb' not supported.
Supported drivers:
null
The receiver is being detected by the OS perfectly as you were saying but the problem is that lirc daemon refuses to start because it can't find the receiver. Perhaps I should post in another section?
