transmission: Error: invalid or corrupt torrent file

Postby kikadf » Wed Feb 23, 2022 10:47 am

Description:
After upgraded transmission-cli to 3.00-3 version, I get "Error: invalid or corrupt torrent file" message when try to add a torrent file. Downgrade to 3.00-2, with same torrent file works fine. Maybe the external dependencies cause this problem?

Additional info:
* package version(s): transmission-cli-3.00-3

Steps to reproduce:
$ transmission-remote -a Something.torrent -w /path/torrent
Error: invalid or corrupt torrent file

This could be a problem caused by the broken lib64 package.
See this thread viewtopic.php?f=57&t=15868&start=10&hilit=transmission

A quick fix is to switch to the lib64-git package.
Otherwise recompile transmission package without external lib switch (--enable-external-b64) and removing dependancies

Just tell us if that fixed your problem, that would be very likely.

The devs are aware, I think, but have not acted upon this (?)
