Hyprland and Pi5

Postby solskogen » Tue Nov 26, 2024 1:34 pm

With the latest kernel (linux-rpi-16k) and Hyprland I only get a black screen. Hyprland is running (I can see that it's running from a ssh connection), but it's like the monitor is not getting a signal. sway works fine, it's not that wayland is broken. anyone else seeing this?

Does downgrading to linux-rpi-16k-6.6.63-1 help? 6.12.1 is pretty new. If not, are you certain that the 16k kernel and hyprland play well together? Testing it under linux-rpi would probably be the first thing to try.

I saw the same problem on x86_64 with a newer Mesa(I had the testing repo enabled), so I think the culprit is there. Hyprland used to work with the 16k kernel, so that's probably not the issue.

Does not seem to be related to the kernel, I tried downgrading to linux-rpi-16k-6.6.59-2, but still only a black screen.
Because I use btrfs and the filesystem was created with a 16k kernel I cannot try the linux-rpi kernel. But I've been using the 16k kernel for quite a while, also with Hyprland and up and until now, that has worked fine.
