armv7 lpae kernel

Postby reey » Sat Feb 24, 2018 11:55 pm

I would also be interrested in a armv7 kernel with lpae activated as mentioned in this locked thread viewtopic.php?f=23&t=11227

I've forked the PKGBUILD: https://github.com/reey/PKGBUILDs/tree/ ... inux-armv7
It would be great if this would make it to the archlinuxarm git.
This allows to make use of the 4GB of RAM on the tegra k1 chromebook.

Since it looks like the nvidia chips are getting greater support in the kernel it would be nice to make use of the whole ram:

So I tried this using defaults (I hit enter repeatedly through the kernel config), generated the package and dd'd it to my kernel partition on mmc0p6.

Got a blank screen, but it definitely booted. I had to revert back to the 2 gig kernel, but I would love to get this working.

From which kernel version do you upgrade?
Are you running latest mainline kernel before installing?
@vman also got this working, so I don't think that there is a Problem with the sources..

I upgraded from 4.15, running the mainline kernel (not the rc one)

Yeah I saw vman got it working, it's something I'm definitely doing wrong. I will watch the other thread for clues

What about taking a working kernel, and starting from the /proc/config.gz

That should give a good starting config, from which you can make changes.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('summers', 'W')hat about taking a working kernel, and starting from the /proc/config.gz
