uboot update fails

Postby muddI » Wed Sep 07, 2022 1:42 pm

Hi,
today I thought I give my Odroid-n2 a second chance and made some updates, ok.
At the end , I tried to upgrade the uboot to uboot-odroid-n2-2015.01-10-aarch64.pkg.tar.xz

pacman :
A new U-Boot version needs to be flashed onto /dev/sda2.
Do you want to do this now? [y|N]

I pressed yes, and than some errors come up, corrupted ext4 fs on /dev/sda2 etc.
Glad that I have a second os on the sd card, so I was able to boot, cause /dev/sda2 is now "empty"
A fsck fixed the fs and the device boots again.

What am I doing wrong?

Ok, got it.

the problem:
Installing the package from AlArm (uboot-odroid-n2-2015.01-10-aarch64.pkg.tar.xz ) tells you:
"A new U-Boot version needs to be flashed onto /dev/sda2."

Installing the package from Archdroid (uboot-odroid-n2plus-2015.01.189-1-aarch64.pkg.tar.xz):
"A new U-Boot version needs to be flashed onto /dev/sda."

check: https://github.com/archdroid-org/pkgbui ... us.install
