Cape Manager

Asked this in another section with no response. Perhaps someone can answer this here?

We need to use a late 3.16.x or later kernel on the Beaglebone Black and it seems that all kernels past 3.8.x do not have cape manager support. Will this be ported forward anytime soon? If not what would the method be for one to do this?
