Netconsole not working by default with current uboot

Postby mpadilla2 » Wed May 06, 2015 4:25 pm

I was attempting to troubleshoot a problem with my pogoe02 through netconsole. However, nothing I was doing would get output on the secondary computer through netcat. I read in this forum that alarm moved to mainline uboot for ARMv5 Marvell Kirkwood platforms. I also found another post where they had to add the following to the include and recompile/reinstall uboot to get it to work:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', '#define CONFIG_PREBOOT')

I did the same for pogo_e02.h, recompiled and reinstalled and netconsole is now working. My question is will netconsole remain disabled by default for ARMv5 Marvell Kirkwood going forward? or should I open an issue to have the above code added to pogo_e02.h (or the PKGBUILD)?

New uboot is being worked on, and will have preboot enabled.
