Requirements for U-Boot packages?

Hi,

I'm working on upgrading uboot-cubox-i to the latest mainline u-boot.
I've already added a patch to have it boot from ext4 by default, but I'm unsure of what else is needed.

Are there any guidelines on U-Boot packages? for example any default boot scripts?
I see some (most?) other U-Boot packages reference uEnv.txt, although it's not in mainline, should that be added?
