ALARM on Sharp Zaurus C3x00 (#2)

Hi Sharp Zaurus Users !

Thanks to Arch Linux ARM for the continued support of armv5tel! This makes it possible to have an up-to-date Linux on your Zaurus.

How ?
The default armv5 kernel does not support Sharp Zaurus devices and you will need a custom one including some patches.
Also you will need a kexecboot kernel flashed first to get the option to boot the custom kernel (or dual boot). A rootfs tar ball is also there for you convenience. Please note these releases are experimental! Use at your own risk!

Kernel 4.14.18 Update:

Arch Linux ARM Kexecboot kernel for C3x00 Devices (including F2FS support for rootfs):

C1000/Akita Kexecboot kernel (Frankenstein, very experimental, only ext2/3 supported for /boot):

Feb 2018 RootFS for easy install (including Zaurus keyboard layout, fake-hwclock etc):

This thread may get locked soon, but you can find more info and support on the classic OESF.org/forum if you are a Sharp Zaurus user.

Note:
The next update will be around the 4.16 kernel release if all relevant patches make it upstream. At this stage 4.14 is the latest supported. Also, you do not have to use the rootfs tar ball provided in this post, but it will save you some time.

Cheers!

Update: There was an issue with gpio-pxa.c in the last release and some key combos would not work. Example: LEFT SHIFT + c would not result in "C" or FN + UP would not trigger "PageUP". This issue has been fixed. To apply the fix, just re-download the kernel tar ball from github and overwrite the zImage in /boot.

FYI : For those who follow this platform: We will work on an updated rootfs and kernel after the upcoming 4.16 kernel release.
