[Solved] SATA Harddisk not recognized on BananaPro

Postby Vorwaerts » Tue Jan 03, 2017 8:59 pm

After a fresh installation according to the guide at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Banana_Pi my BananaPro does not recognize the hard disk connected to the SATA port.
Before I did an update with pacman -Suy last desember it was working fine. The BananaPro would not restart after the backup, because it did not find the SATA drive. Therefore I tried a new installation. ]lsblk shows only the SD card and no SATA drive.
If I restart the BananaPro with a Bananian installation (https://www.bananian.org/) on a different SD card, lsblk lists both the SD card and the SATA drive.
Could anyone give me some hints on how to troubleshoot this issue?

Ok I found the solution.

The u-boot has to be compiled with the BananaPro config.

I.e. install as described here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Banana_Pi
but replace
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'make -j4 ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-eabi- Bananapi_defconfig')
with
$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'make -j4 ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-none-eabi- Bananapro_defconfig')
